Hi, after using After Effects something that happens to me also in Premiere Pro, but less frequently, is that all my monitors suddenly go black and I'm forced to restart the computer with the reset button. To update After Effects, launch the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app and click Update next to After Effects. Method 3: Turn off GPU Acceleration. When you crush the blacks, you increase the contrast in your image. And because your brain is designed to focus on high contrast areas (it's an evolutionary thing to stop you getting attacked by dinosaurs or something). Either way higher contrast images are easier to process – and so more appealing to our brains.

When you say the blacks are "crushed", I'd also bet that your whites are well below where they should be. This is a result of plotting 94-940 (0-100 IRE) as if they were 0-1023, which will result in severely negative black. The opposite also occurs, and people complain about flat, milky values.
