The head grades of the two ores tested are provided in Table 1, and the modal analysis is given in Table 2. The data indicated that both ores were predominantly nonsulphide gangue. Ore A had about twice as much - gold as Ore B, and contained significantly more pyrite (that is, 3.2% compared to 0.1%). Both ores contained trace levels of copper.
The gold grade in the original ore, calculated from the dough balance, is 2.07 g/t. The gold in the ore is mainly distributed in large grades, so more than 60% of the metal is in the + 1 mm grade. Due to the fact that the bulk of gold in the ore is concentrated in large grades, there is a high probability of finding unopened metal in it.
